CU in the Community

We at Tullamore Credit Union strive to be at the heart of the community and promote and encourage positive action that enriches the lives of the people who live and work in our town. We continue to work through local schools both primary and second level, to educate our young people on the fundamentals of sound money management and the life-long benefits of credit union membership.

Our Annual Tidy Tullamore initiative remains a great success and has an ongoing positive impact on the local environment. Our “Flowering of Tullamore” programme, developed in partnership with Tullamore Tidy Towns committee, involved the placing and maintaining of floral features throughout the town which greatly improves the streetscape.

Our Members’ Car Draw remains very popular. This self financing draw takes place quarterly and regularly attracts around 5,000 participants. This year we have introduced additional cash prizes to ensure that more members benefit from the draw, in these difficult times. Click here to see the latest winners.

We also actively support a wide range of local charitable, sporting and community groups, both financially and otherwise. We feel that the credit union has a role to play in strengthening the bonds of community in our area, and hope to continue such support in the future.

Tullamore Credit Union was created by the community, for the community. Since we began in 1963 members of our Credit Union are at the heart of everything we do and in these trying times it is more important to us than ever. In December each year the Credit Union provides a significant boost to the local economy by the payment of several million euros in Dividends to Members. Tullamore Credit Union supports the local economy by issuing up to €48 million each year in loans most of which is spent in the local community. All monies earned are redistributed to members and therefore the community or reinvested in the Credit Union to improve products and services. The credit union is run by a voluntary Board of Directors and Supervisors who give of their time freely and willingly as their contribution to their local community.

We strive to respect and support our members in every way possible. We offer a full range of low-cost financial services including loans for prudent purposes. In these difficult times we work to afford members the privacy and respect to re-engineer their lifestyles to changed circumstances, always keeping members interests as our driving force.
