Community Support Fund 2022

This was our press release for last years Community Support Fund  – its hard to believe that a full year has passed! So if you are involved in a local community group, sports club or cultural group – complete our application form today! https://www.tullamorecu.ie/download-forms/

‘As a local, member owned organisation, Tullamore Credit Union Ltd has a strong commitment to supporting organisations and initiatives that benefit the local community. Since its foundation, this has been evidenced, not only by the credit unions willingness to provide loan funding to such groups, in the form of Community Loans, but also by providing donations and sponsorship to a wide range of organisations, charities, and sports groups to help fund their activities.

This year’s Community Support Fund opened in Feb 2021 as usual but with the pandemic still influencing all areas of our lives, our hugely anticipated presentation event night had to be postponed. However, we are not an organisation to be easily deterred and we invited some recipients to a small presentation in our office over the last number of weekends.  Just 1 representative from each of the successful applicants was invited to receive their sponsorship cheques. Our Chairperson Ray Spain, directors Patrick Doheny, Liam O’Callaghan, Peter Hensey and members of the Management team rotated the presentations, adhering to all required guidelines.

Many different types of groups benefitted – some sporting organisations, some charities, some retirement groups – all funds presented went to groups within our common bond – thereby ensuring that funds are returned for the betterment of local people.

Remember our credit union is a community-based organisation – we welcome the members of Kilcormac Credit Union following our merger and we look forward to next year’s fund opening again in February 2022!
