Tidy Tullamore

There’s still time to enter Tullamore Credit Union’s Tidy Tullamore 2017

Tullamore Credit Union’s annual Tidy Tullamore competition was launched by credit union’s Chairperson Pat Doheny at a special gathering on Wednesday 12th April 2017 in Tullamore Court Hotel.  Pat welcomed representatives from co-sponsors Offaly County Council, Tullamore Chamber of Commerce, Tullamore Municipal District, Tullamore Tidy Towns along with representatives from the competition entrants which currently stands at 50: 14 businesses, 5 villages, 25 estates/streets and 6 primary schools.

Pat explained how the competition works: “From humble beginnings way back in 1963, we are extremely proud in the success and growth Tullamore Credit Union has achieved. It gives us great pleasure to be in the position where we can give back to our community through initiatives like this one.

Open to all residential streets, estates, businesses, schools and villages in the Credit Union common bond, the benefits of the Tidy Tullamore competition are significant.  Areas such as Litter Management, Floral Displays, Creativity, Environmental and Community Spirit will be considered. As in previous years, the judges will visit each entrant three times during the summer (May, June & July) and issue a follow up report after each visit. The winners will be announced at a presentation night in August.”

Speakers at the launch included Chairperson of Offaly County Council Eddie Fitzpatrick, and Tommy McKeigue Chairperson of the Tullamore Tidy Towns Committee.

Entry forms can be downloaded from www.tullamorecu.ie or contact Patricia Reddy on 057 93 51780 / patricia@tullamorecu.ie before May 01st 2017.
