| Tidy Schools 2010 Results |
|
To celebrate its strong relationship with local schools, Tullamore Credit Union launched the Tidy Schools Competition back in October 09. With a prize fund of €3000 up for grabs, Tidy Schools 2010 was conceived to educate and encourage the younger generation to care about their environment and improve their surroundings. The competition was project based and students had to document their progress and any new initiatives they had undertaken.
Competition has been stiff between the twelve local schools who entered and the judging team, headed up by Tullamore Town Council chairman Tommy Mc Keigue, was very impressed by the level of interest and enthusiasm in both students and teachers alike. All of the schools have implemented recycling initiatives, while others had developed wildlife gardens, litter picking schemes, murals, and vegetable gardens to name but a few.
And the winners were...
First Place: Scoil Bhrid Tullamore €1000

Second Place: Geashill N.S €800

Third Place: St Colman’s Cappagh N.S €700

Creative Recycling Award: Offaly School of Special Education €500

important details relating to “nominations“ are set out below:
- A nomination must be in writing. You may fill in a nomination form in the office.
- The Statutory maximum amount that can pass under a nomination is currently €23k. Any amount in
excess of this balance will form part of your estate.
- If you elect not to complete a nomination, the proceeds of your account will form part of your estate
on your death and will be dealt with under the terms of your will, under the rules of intestacy if you make
no will, or under small payment provision.
- You may revoke or vary your nomination at any time by completing a new nomination form.
- A nomination is automatically revoked when your nominee dies before you. In this case, you should

of your estate.
- A nomination is automatically revoked by your subsequent marriage.
- Where your personal circumstances change (e.g. marriage, divorce or separation) you should review your
nomination at that time.
- A person under age of 16 cannot make a valid nomination
We urge all members to check if their current nominees are as they intend and if not to visit the office to

| Sustaining Progress – Credit Union-wise |
In keeping with its status as one of the more progressive Credit
Unions in the country, Tullamore CU has developed a new
financial product that is proving to be of great interest to
members whether they are borrowing or saving – or both!
The product is ASSET – a secured loan which advances
larger amounts than have been traditionally available in Credit
Union loans and also extends the repayment term to 15 years.
ASSET – Affordable finance when you need just
that bit more!
The ASSET or A Secured Sum Extended Term loan is specifically
for those members who need ‘just that bit more’ for whatever
project they have in mind. This could be home improvement,
property purchase, business investment, vehicle, plant or stock
purchase or whatever! The significant element is that you can
borrow more than heretofore from a Credit Union.
The ASSET loan is a secured sum and so an appropriate form of
collateral is required to secure the loan. To complement the
larger sums advanced, the ASSET loan also features an
extended term for the repayment of the loan up to 15 years. The
rate of interest charged will be variable and is currently 6.5% per
annum giving an APR of 6.7%.
Very Attractive Money
Credit Union loans continue to be a very popular source of
finance for a multitude of purposes and projects whether
personal, family or home related. Low interest rates coupled
with very reasonable repayment terms and extremely helpful
and friendly staff combine to make the Credit Union the lender
of first resort for low or medium sized personal loans.
When You Need More
Rising costs have ensured that projects or purposes regularly
financed by Credit Union loans are becoming more and more
expensive and quite often more finance is required. However
expensive, weddings, holidays, home improvement and other
family projects have to be paid for and that’s where an ASSET
loan can help.
While this new loan option advances a higher amount of money
over an extended term, it still retains the affordability and easy
repayment profile of general Credit Union loans.
Terms and Conditions
As with all financial products, some terms and conditions apply
including the following:
• Minimum Advance €30,000
• Maximum Advance €150,000
• Minimum Term 10 years
• Maximum Term 15 years
• Security Required – loan must be secured by property title
deeds or other appropriate legal instrument.
• Variable Interest Rate commencing at 6.5% (APR 6.7%)
• Loan Insurance required
How to Apply
To apply for an ASSET loan contact Tullamore Credit Union
straight away.An interview with a Loans Officer will be required
to discuss the purpose, security and repayment terms of the
loan. Your application will be assessed without delay
